Day 6: On To Banff
It was time for another longer drive day full of many stops along the way. We left Revelstoke and were in awe of the beautiful mountains the entire drive to Banff.

We made a few quick hike stops at Skunk Cabbage, Giant Cedars, and Hemlock Grove boardwalks.

On our way through one of the many snow sheds, a mountain goat crossed in front of us on the highway, and we then saw another one on each side of the road. The scenery along the way continued to impress.

Next stop was Rogers Pass. Unfortunately, the visitor centre was closed for construction, but the views more than made up for it.

After this point we learned of a traffic accident that had closed Highway 1 to Banff. Since we had everything we needed in the RV, we decided to wait out the long backups. The arrival time kept slipping later and later, but we were reminded we were the lucky ones, only facing a delay to our next campsite when so many others were impacted in much bigger ways, especially those unfortunate to be in the accident.
The stopped traffic gave us time for a longer stop at the Spiral Tunnels, a unique railway feature that gives trains a less steep path over the pass. It is a super cool concept, but we weren’t lucky enough to see a train in action.

After a few extra hours on the road, we made it to our campsite in Banff where we will be for the next seven nights. So excited to get settled in for a while.
