Day 5: Short Hikes And Trains
Today ended up being a bit more relaxed than we originally planned. The full day was intended to be up hiking at the top of the Meadows in the Sky Parkway, but unfortunately the snow pack is still too low so the road is only open halfway. We did complete a couple of shorter hikes near the bottom, which were wonderful and short, which the kids appreciated. Many of the folks we passed sounded like they had Australian or British accents, and we love it!

We came back to the RV for lunch and relaxation time. We then spent the afternoon at the Revelstoke Railway Museum, where we learned how important the railroad has been to the town’s history.

Next stop was the grocery store, which is always a favorite of mine since it is a chance for us all to see new brands and foods that we don’t get at home.

Dinner tonight was our go-to frozen risotto and gnocchi from Trader Joe’s with added chicken, followed by a final night of s’mores. Tomorrow we head to Banff then Jasper for a total of 10 nights, where there are unfortunately no fire pits at our campsites. There will also be no onsite laundry, so we rallied to get that done tonight too. It was a special surprise that the washer pricing is the same even for warm or hot water, which we’ve found generally isn’t true in the US. Canada is generous.
