Day 3: Crazy Weather at Glacier

30 mile an hour winds, rain, you name it, we had it.

We decided late last night after the kids went to bed that we needed to pull the slide in due to the high winds. Our slide, the part that pops out to give us more interior room when parked, runs the entire side of the RV, from the kitchen table back to the bedroom closet. I was prepared to comfort the kids when their entire bed was moving, accompanied by a loud motor noise and warning sounds. Fortunately, they slept right through it.

We decided to keep the slide in for most of the next day, which is how we learned that with the slide closed, we can’t access any of our drawers containing socks, jammies, undies, etc. Three days of the same pair of socks is not how I roll, but it’s just another adjustment with RV life.

“Trains” was the common theme of both of our nights so far, at Cabela’s and Glacier. Why some blow their horn repeatedly and others just once, we have still to figure out. A full night’s rest is something we are all still dreaming of.

Rob ventured out in this crazy weather for a morning run. He discovered a beautiful river spot, so later that day we took a family bike ride to check it out, too, and happened upon some rafters.

S’mores and a campfire were the top priorities for the kids tonight, even with the crazy weather.
