Day 59: Hello, Canada!

Turns out, if you leave a huge mess from the night before, it takes a while to actually get moving the next morning. Today we didn’t hit the road until 11 a.m. even though we were up at 7 and working nonstop. Still, the extra sleep last night was worth it.

Rob started us off on the drive today and we got one more look at that field of sunflowers

A little further down the road, there was a sign telling all vehicles over a certain weight to exit. We did, and at the exit was a stop sign with no crossing road, just this very detailed sign they wanted everyone to read.

After filling up at a super cheap gas station ($.50 less a gallon), thanks to Rob’s research. Kelly drove the second half where we had some rainstorms. We didn’t mind; it has to rain sometime, and so far this trip it’s almost always on days we’re driving and not trying to do activities.

Kelly really wanted to be the driver when we crossed into Canada. There was no wait at the border, and the agents were very kind and had us through customs within 10 minutes.

We were soon at the campground, and because this was the first time Nicholas was to step foot in Canada, we had to capture the soil touching moment.

We checked out the campground and settled in to relax after such a long day of driving. Rob had to move the Starlink antenna due to some trees, and Nicholas got to join him on the roof.

Tonight was one of the few nights we’ve slept with the windows open, and the cool, fresh air feels amazing.
