Day 27: Cool Rocks and Rock Hall
Today’s forecast called for storms, so we woke up early to explore two areas of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Rob’s uncle recommended The Ledges, which was so beautiful.

We then hit up the visitor center to get our park coin and check out the exhibits, followed by the Brandywine Falls trail, which was pretty but reminded us that we’re a bit burned out on waterfalls. The clouds also opened up, showering us with some “warm rain” that our Seattle bodies aren’t accustomed to. We put on rain jackets that made us really hot. Is that what umbrellas are for?

We then headed to Cleveland for lunch at Great Lakes Brewing Company, which we all really enjoyed (amazing house-made mustard on the pretzel, and the fresh walleye fish and chips wasn’t bad, either).
We then drove over to the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. Rob had been wanting to go here for a while, and we were all impressed with the large amount of interesting memorabilia on display, which started right away with the actual awning from CBGB. The kids especially loved the temporary Saturday Night Live exhibit, featuring tons of costumes from skits over the years. Kelly loved the many handwritten lyrics for hit songs written on random pieces of paper like hotel stationery.

We ended the night catching up with Rob’s college friend, John, who was rolling through the same area at the same time, then spotting fireflies out the window (which we definitely don’t have at home).
