Day 23: Family Fun!

Our long drive yesterday was SO worth it! We were up early at 7 a.m. to start the 2.5 hour drive to Dubin, Ohio (just outside Columbus) to visit Rob’s aunt Beth, cousin Chandler, and her daughter Liddie (and dog Arnie). A dog, baby, laundry, dishwasher, and incredible people–it checked all the boxes.

We left for a couple hours in the mid-afternoon during Liddie’s nap and checked out the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) museum in Columbus. Watching the kids play in the water brought back memories of their toddler days—their eyes still sparkling with the same pure joy. The museum starts out with a Foucault pendulum, which demonstrates the earth’s rotation, knocking off a ball every ~16 minutes.

Nicholas is currently obsessed with suspensions and flying, and this place delivered!

Cooper smoked us on the reaction time games.

Chandler tipped us off to yummy ice cream at Graeter’s, Rob had a buckeye flavor, Nicholas and Cooper lemon sorbet, and Kelly cookies ‘n’ cream chip. This location was near a super-random cement corn cob field that felt very midwest. We saw lots of cornfields on the drive today, and a few soybean fields, too.

Such a great day!
