Day 19: Family Day at the Omaha Zoo
Rob took the day off of work, and the boys didn’t have calls for school, so it was a bonus family day! We took advantage by heading to the Omaha Zoo for a wonderful day of exploring.
We did a ton of walking and enjoyed sharing the zoo with just a few other people. When searching for a spot for our lunch we ended up in the Northwest exhibit where we could see the sea lions playing in their tanks. A little piece of home.
The highlight for Cooper was watching the young sibling monkeys play in the jungle area. He also really enjoyed the walking path and height of the display in a dome for the desert animals.
Nicholas loved seeing the cheetah, his favorite animal, which he had never seen in person before. We lucked out on the timing as the cheetah had just walked by before flopping down for a nap in the shade of the tree.
The highlight for both Rob and me was watching the boys enjoy their favorite animals. Rob loved the tunnel aquarium and I loved the jelly fish.
We ended the night with a bug-free sunset dinner and a little pajama biking around the campsite for the boys.
I love your little bug canopy for the table! What a life saver that must be when things get buggy. Looks like a busy day for the Kochman clan! Hope it all earned you a good night sleep!
I have a friend in Omaha and she says her zoo is the best, how do you think it compares to the zoo in Seattle (setting your bias aside)?
