Day 28: Hitting some Favorite Spots in Jackson
Bubba’s is a favorite breakfast stop for the whole family. Our latest visit didn’t disappoint, and now we have already hit two local favorite restaurants in less than 24 hours.
Rob is working today, so the rest of us had a mini-adventure to the post office. In Jackson, Rob’s parents have a PO Box, so the kids got to experience that process, including picking up some things we’d ordered from Amazon.
After a big breakfast, a walk up the hill with George was the perfect activity. We made it 3 miles into the 4-mile walk; we’ll be better prepared with water next time. Nicholas was pretty persistent in wanting to know if we could go to the pool, eat ice cream, and do all of the activities we had talked about in Jackson, but do them all today. We agreed to make a calendar to give him something to look forward to, but also to stop the incessant asking.
On the way back down the hill one of the construction workers asked if the boys wanted to check out the lift. He let them both even use the controls to move the forks all around. Super cool!
The walk was followed up with showers and more TV relaxing at home. A shower with strong water pressure, hot water, and some space to soap up felt so good.
A trip to the candy store with Nana is also an annual tradition that the boys, especially Nicholas, was eager to do.
Rob and I had a date night tonight while the boys enjoyed an evening with Nana and Pop-pop. We had an early dinner at Trio, then walked around town for a bit before stopping back at the brewery for their famous s’mores dessert. Our evening ended with a double rainbow as we drove up the hill.
