Day 2: Following the Snake to Utah

After our long drive day yesterday, we had a shorter day today with a nice break in the middle. Our route today started on I-86, roughly following the Snake River.

Today’s adventure was visiting Shoshone Falls and the nearby Perrine Bridge. The falls were pretty, and at 212 feet, they are taller than Niagara Falls. The water level was low, so we didn’t see the full “horseshoe,” but it was still nice. The Perrine Bridge is the only one in the U.S. you can BASE jump from without a permit 365 days a year. We were lucky enough to catch the last jumper of the day.

We made a pit stop before our final destination to get more water and dump the tanks. Now that we are fully supplied we will get showers for everyone tonight!

We ended our night in a Cracker Barrel parking lot, which seemed like it’d be a much quieter night than last night at the rest stop. We made our own food in the RV, but the boys and I also had our first Cracker Barrel shopping experience. They walked away with 2 PEZ dispensers each and a set of refills for them. Not many mask wearers around here, but the boys and I are sticking with it until they can be vaccinated.
