Day 93: Beach and More Family Time
The morning was full of more relaxing and fun. We started with some individual indoor activities, including some solid cousin time.
We headed to the dog beach for some mid-morning fresh air and to let Lucy run. Lucy is a very chill dog, but wow–take her to the beach and that girl can run! She seems so happy there.
All of us loved climbing on the rocks, walking on logs, making mud balls and anything else beachy.
Their traditional light show had sold out, but we were able to find another place to see a drive through light display. We piled into their two cars and all had a blast. Brant loves Christmas music, so they played it the whole time. Kari opts for minimal Christmas music, so we listened while in the display only. There was a fair food style “restaurant” called, Thirsty Fry and we couldn’t get over how gross that sounded.
We ended the night playing Pinochle, my favorite couples game to play with them. As kids, Kari and I learned how to play during an RV road trip to Yellowstone with our grandparents, so it is a very fun tradition to play when we are together.
We opted to spend this night in the RV so we would be out of their way in the morning and also able to get going quickly ourselves. It was really nice to get everything packed up the night before, and we all slept great in our home away from home.
We need a pinochle date someday! That was my family’s game of choice growing up and D plays too. Seems like almost no one our age and younger knows how to play.
We would love that! Kelly is excited 🙂
