Day 76: Landed at Nana and Pop Pop’s house

Happy to report we weren’t asked to leave from the Walmart parking lot overnight and headed out like usual in the morning. The kids were up early with excitement to see Nana and Pop Pop today. We had to make stops on the way to get gas and dump our tanks.

There were two ideas for when we got to Rob’s parents on what we could do with the RV. We would first trying parking our 32ft RV in their 35ft driveway (including sidewalk), and if that didn’t work or we couldn’t get level enough, we would find a campground nearby. Fortunately, we fit in their driveway and were able to get it surprisingly level with Rob’s leveling block strategy. It is super nerve-racking hitting the gas hard to drive up on blocks just 2 feet from your in-laws house with them watching, but it was done with no damage to anything.

This isn’t obnoxious at all…

It felt like coming home from college, only this time with your own entire family. We brought in our dirty clothes hamper to do laundry, water bottles (first dishwasher cleaning in 2+ months of daily use), and looked forward to all the amazing meals Pop Pop would cook for us.

The boys loved watching cooking shows with Pop Pop in between their school calls.

We all enjoyed an extra long, warm, high-pressure shower tonight. The boys love ending the day having story time with Nana. This was also our first night apart: the boys slept in the house in the guest room while Rob and I stayed in the RV in the driveway.
