Day 70: Beach vs. Homework

Friday’s are still hard. We did some bike riding this morning to explore the campground before hunkering down to get the week’s homework done. Next week we will try another strategy so that Friday doesn’t feel so daunting for homework. We have a lot of driving days coming up after this weekend, so it will require lots of pre-planning by me and self motivation for the boys. Fingers crossed for more success.

Since the beginning of this trip the boys having been planning their own RVs that they are going to build when they get older. They are very elaborate and include EVERYTHING: pools, multiple A/C units, laundry; you name it, they want to put it in there. I believe they both currently also double as a boat and/or an airplane too.

We were able to make a quick afternoon trip to the beach. The thought of only a few more days of this beach lifestyle is really setting in for the boys, so they are feeling additional pressure to get out there as much as possible. Once we hit the beach, Cooper was feeling pressure to get back to the RV to get work done. I ran back to the RV to grab his work, and he worked on it while Nicholas played. We hide under towels to try to avoid as many biting flies as possible. Rob was able to walk during a conference call to meet us to enjoy a beautiful sunset together.

  1. I love Nicholas’s blueprint for his RV…lots of rockets make everything better. Cooper could not have found a more beautiful place to do homework…. definitely beats the kitchen counter at my house!
