Day 42: The Bubbles and Nubble
Time to explore Acadia! First stop was the visitor center where the very patient ranger helped put all of our ideas on a map and gave some other helpful advice.
We wanted to knock out one of the hikes today, so we hopped on the park bus and headed for the Bubbles Nubble Loop hike. The shuttle doesn’t actually stop near this trail so we had a “bonus” mile each way.
First up was the Connor Nubble portion of the trail which provided views of Eagle Lake at the top.

Next up was North Bubble followed by South Bubble before heading back down.

This trail had us scrambling over some large rocks and provided beautiful views, with nearly 1,000 feet elevation gain over six miles.
Once back to the car we decided it would be a great time to do the 27 mile loop drive through the park. With some light rain, we didn’t experience many crowds at all.
