Day 22: Long Drive to Ohio
We had another long day of driving to get from Traverse City to Sandusky, Ohio. We opted to push hard today to be able to spend more time with Rob’s aunt and cousin tomorrow.
Getting ready goes so much faster with four helpers. The boys attach and detach the tow car all on their own now.

During the drive Rob saw a billboard for a year-round Christmas store, so we decided to make the stop. This place was insane: 1.5 football fields of solid ornaments and Christmas decor. If you had a theme in mind they have an entire section dedicated to just that.

Our fuel stop today was at the new Costco in Flint, Michigan. We set a personal record, pumping over 70 gallons of fuel into the RV and tow car combined. While Rob pumped gas, the rest of us made a little side trip inside for a couple items and lunch (as is tradition for these Costco fuel stops).

Lots of driving necessitates lots of creativity to pass the time. While Kelly tried to get a couple minutes with her eyes closed, Nicholas combined a couple sun shades to make a short shirt and took a bunch of selfies.

We arrived to the new park in 88 degree weather. Still wishing we could sort out how to get the A/C working when driving, but we managed with open windows for a while, and running the generator while driving enables us to turn on the roof-mounted A/C units. As soon as we arrived, the kids got the bikes out and explored the jump pad, then we took a walk around the campground. Dinner tonight was the leftover Costco chicken bake and caesar salad from lunch.
