Day 25: Queenstown to Auckland: Back to the Start

We had a great start to the final few hours on the South Island. Flying within New Zealand is wonderful; it reminds us of flying in the US pre-9/11: no ID checks, bring on your full liquids, and the timeline is so casual–do security once your gate opens. The 1.5 hour flight from Queenstown to Auckland went very smoothly, and we were greeted by Amanda’s smiling face on the other end.

Madeleine greeted Nicholas in their driveway with Uno Flip cards, ready for more action. Cooper, Elliott, and Zoe were quick to get back into the LEGO, and there was some trampoline jumping thrown in there, too. The weather wasn’t great, so we spent the rest of the day hanging out at home with the Sadliers and doing a little napping, due to the early wake-up. It was so fun to get this bonus 36 hours with some of our favorite people.
