Day 34: Food and Family

This family is a huge fan of Bubba’s, so we headed there once again for breakfast this morning. After breakfast, Rob’s dad headed back to meet the septic guy again, and the rest of us headed out on an adventure.

Yesterday the boys finished up their Junior Ranger packets, so we went to the visitor center to turn them in. There are some really cool exhibits, interesting facts, and the opportunity to touch the fur and horns of many animals there. We are pretty sure the boys have received this junior ranger badge before, but it has been a few years, so they wanted to do it again.

Finding Nana and Pop-Pop’s house on the map

We decided to take the long way back to the house via Moose-Wilson Road. We checked out some of the ponds along the way, but we didn’t have a moose siting this time.

Once back at home, we decided to start taking some pictures of the house, which his parents are considering selling this year. The wide angle lens on Rob’s iPhone worked really well for this.

Later, Rob and his dad headed to the brewery to meet some friends, while Jane and I had lunch with the kids at home. Our lunch was followed by a visit to town for some yummy Häagen-Dazs ice cream..

Dinner was a delicious smoked pork shoulder, more cooking shows, and snuggles with George before bed. With the septic system fixed we also enjoyed showers again.

  1. Oh man…I hope the septic problems are fixed for good and NOT connected to the Baer family visit? Ha. ❤️
