Day 83: Thanksgiving

So much to be thankful for! This has been an incredible adventure, and we are so lucky to get to do it as a family. We haven’t lost track of all the circumstances that have made this trip possible. Today we reflected on both the blessings and sacrifices that have taken place in 2020 and how fortunate we are at to explore the country and see family in a safe way along our route.

Today we spent the day hanging out around Nene’s house. First on the agenda was the long awaited Lego building. The boys have spent hours on this trip talking about what they will build when we get home. We aren’t home to their own Legos yet, but they sure loved playing with Nene’s.

The boys LOVE picking lemons and oranges off of her trees to make juice when we typically visit in the spring. My mom made it happen again this trip by clipping netted oranges to the tree for them to pick–she is so creative! Fortunately, the actual lemons on the tree were yellow enough so they could just pick those straight from the tree, too.

We found some hula hoops in the garage and had to give them a whirl. Apparently, Cooper has been learning to hula hoop at school; we had no idea.

We took a short bike ride (first time using our bikes here) and and ate lunch outside. Later, Rob and I took a walk to the RV to grab a few items, which meant a ~5km walk round trip (a sort of Turkey Trot).

We wrapped up the day with a yummy meal with wonderful people!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
