Day 62: Conch Shells and Sandy Beach Time
We started the day with family snorkel. Unfortunately, the waters were really murky due to all the sand churned up from the recent storms, but we made the most of it. We hit the beach at low tide, which was a great treat. Cooper found two conchs (he put them back in the water after the pics) while Nicholas and Rob enjoyed some digging together. We later all met up for some more snorkel time, and then the boys built elaborate sand-loungers to relax in, complete with a side table. It was a great 2-3 hours at the beach before hitting the school calls again.
Once they were back on calls I enjoyed a near hour of walking the beach by myself. It was so nice to get some quiet time with toes in the water. I couldn’t help myself and picked up many handfuls of trash along the way, but that felt great too. Every little bit helps.
For the afternoon adventure the boys and I headed back to the beach. They had planned to dig, but discovered a new favorite quickly: “sand football.” This physical outlet has been hard to sort out when living in such a small space and not having a yard. Cooper is always on “offense” with the imaginary ball running towards the end zone, and Nicholas is the defense. They both love this set-up because Cooper gets to call the plays and Nicholas gets to tackle him.
We wrapped up the evening getting things put away for tomorrow’s drive day.
That football game looks fun and those beaches really do look like heaven. Glad you got some beautiful”Kelly time” today!
