Day 54: First Time Snorkeling
We woke up to paradise this morning. The view from the campsite Rob found is breathtaking. The kids wasted no time getting in the water.
Today was Wednesday, so we took some more liberties with the kids’ school schedule and hit the beach to try out snorkeling. The weather here is pretty windy right now, apparently due to Hurricane Zeta. The bigger waves kept us out of the windward beach that is reportedly better for snorkeling, so we headed to the more protected swimming beach on the other side of the island instead.
We were lucky that Rob was able to join us for a bit before work. Rob and I got our own new snorkel gear, which apparently is too cool, because Nicholas was very quick to claim mine as perfect for him.
We headed back to the RV for lunch and schoolwork. It was a very productive day for both kids, so they were rewarded with some Minecraft time.
At the last grocery stop we bought some steaks and charcoal, and tonight was the lucky night that we were able to enjoy a steak dinner. It was our first steak dinner since before we left on the trip and one of the boys’ absolute favorite meals.
After the boys were in bed, Rob and I went back outside to check out the stars. This is part of the RV experience I have been really missing. We have always stayed inside once they go to bed, usually due to the bugs, but today the weather, wind, and bugs all cooperated to give us a very nice evening outside.
What an amazing few days! That camping spot really looks like it couldn’t be more cool. Can’t wait to take our family out there and hit you up for all the not toiss places!
