Day 42: First Florida Beach Day

As luck would have it, our first full day in Florida is also a no school day for the boys thanks to a cancelled conference week. We took Rob with us for a few minutes of exploring in the morning before he started work.

Rob was able to have the whole motorhome to himself for some working/thinking time while the boys and I hit the beach. It was quite pleasant, with the temperature around 80 and warm water, too.

They are still obsessed with waves. Today Nicholas was willing to go in the waves without holding on to me, so his confidence continues to grow.

We’ve never seen a beach like this. The top inch is sand, and below that, several inches of orange-tinted crushed shells. It made it easy to see where they were digging.

After a few hours of beach time, Rob was able to join us again. Rob is an expert in body surfing, with “decades of experience” and happily gave some pointers to the boys. They are really picking it up quickly. Cooper’s favorite activity is still to have us all in the water jumping over waves together as a family. That kiddo loves to be together, which melts our hearts.
