Day 39: Bikes and Body Surfing
It was one of the few mornings where we had completely positive vibes during our morning family snuggle time, and it felt so nice! We started the day out with some “me” time. This meant that Rob got out for a three mile barefoot beach run before work. After that, the boys road their bikes while I ran along the beach for two miles. They were wiped when we got back because our route had taken us through some very mushy sand, making riding impossible and even walking the bikes difficult.
From the beach we headed back for more work and school. It was another tough one, so I had to get out for some me time to take a walk on the beach and talk to my bestie. Boy is that bucket filling!
We were finally able to get out to the beach for our afternoon fun time, and the boys had a go at body surfing. They loved it! Their version of body surfing means jumping under the water right as the wave crashes and passes over them. There were just a couple of times the waves pushed them a little bit forward, but fortunately, we will have lots of more time to practice in the coming weeks when we head to Florida.
We ended the day with another trip to the dump station to make room in the tanks for me to shower. It was a nice way to push us to get everything packed up and bikes loaded and car attached in the daylight so we can have a quicker departure tomorrow when we head to Savannah, Georgia.
