Day 12: Wednesday Fun Day
With no school meetings on Wednesdays, we have been using this day as a respite from screen time and a chance to go out exploring, while Rob gets a quiet day working in the RV. We still need to find a balance so the boys get some work done on Wednesdays, but we haven’t figured it out yet.
After getting ready we headed to Sylvan Lake for the day. We started with the 1 mile hike around the lake, followed by digging in the sand, a picnic lunch, and then kayaking adventures.
Kayaking was the highlight of the day. All three of us were able to fit in one of our two-person inflatable kayaks, and the boys willingly did all of the inflating and assembly. They loved disembarking on many of the rock “islands” of the lake. I enjoyed the brief moments of alone time in the kayak and often pretended I couldn’t hear them, just to paddle away for a bit before circling back around to get them. A few hikers around the lake commented that they had watched us inflating and were checking in to see if we were still dry and having fun. Both were a big YES!
So much fun!!!! We have a picture of Wyatt in that same rock crevice around Dylan lake. What a beautiful picture thru Needles tunnel too! Kayaking must have been fun! We paddle boarded and canoed. Looks like you had a great time. Keep the pictures coming!
I enjoy your posts and love to see everyone is adapting to their travels.
